Nampa, Idaho Man Arrested on Three Counts of Child Exploitation Material Possession

NAMPA, Idaho — Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that a Nampa man has been arrested on three counts of possession of child exploitation material following an investigation by the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Daniel Loretto was taken into custody on April 14, 2026, by investigators with the Idaho ICAC Unit, with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies across the Treasure Valley and Canyon County region.

Multi-Agency Operation Leads to Canyon County Arrest

The arrest of Loretto involved a coordinated effort between several law enforcement agencies, underscoring the serious and collaborative nature of child exploitation investigations in Idaho. Assisting the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit were the Nampa Police Department, the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Meridian Police Department, the Boise Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Loretto faces three counts of possession of child exploitation material. As with all criminal charges, these are accusations, and Loretto is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

About the Idaho ICAC Unit

The Idaho Attorney General’s ICAC Unit operates as part of the Idaho ICAC Task Force — a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies with the shared mission of investigating and prosecuting individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children. The task force works across jurisdictional lines to identify offenders, execute search warrants, and bring charges against those who prey on minors online.

Attorney General Labrador has made the pursuit of child predators and the protection of Idaho’s children a stated priority of his office. The ICAC Task Force serves as a critical tool in that effort, combining the resources and expertise of agencies at every level of government to combat online exploitation across Idaho — including in communities throughout Canyon County and the broader Treasure Valley.

Cases of this nature reflect a broader national and statewide concern about the exploitation of children through the internet. Canyon County residents may recall that a Nampa man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for lewd conduct with a minor in a separate case, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by predators in the region and the commitment of local law enforcement to hold offenders accountable.

Impact on Canyon County Families

For families throughout Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, and the rest of Canyon County, the work of the ICAC Task Force offers reassurance that state and local law enforcement are actively working to identify and stop individuals who seek to exploit children online. The arrest of Loretto is the result of investigative work that often spans weeks or months and requires close cooperation between agencies with different specialties and jurisdictions.

Parents and educators are encouraged to stay informed about internet safety and the warning signs of online exploitation. The Attorney General’s office provides resources and guidance through the task force’s dedicated website to help communities recognize and report suspicious activity involving children.
