CALDWELL POLICE OFFICER Mary Pierce

A Caldwell, Idaho police officer took time away from patrol duties earlier this month to connect with young students at a community safety and agricultural education event. Officer Mary Pierce spoke to a group of fifth-graders on May 7 at an Ag and Health Safety Day held at a local county expo center.

The event was organized by the local 4-H program in partnership with an AgriLife Extension office, bringing together community resources to educate youth on safety and agricultural topics. Officer Pierce’s appearance gave students a chance to interact directly with local law enforcement in a positive, community-focused setting.

Events like this reflect the kind of community policing that builds trust between Canyon County law enforcement and the families they serve — introducing children to officers as trusted community figures rather than strangers. Caldwell police have remained active in outreach efforts across the Treasure Valley region.
