Canyon County to honor fallen officers at annual memorial ceremony

Canyon County will pay tribute to the men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty when the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office hosts its 14th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Caldwell, Idaho. The event recognizes all 77 Idaho law enforcement officers killed in service and is open to the public.

Ceremony Details

The memorial will take place at The Center at the Canyon County Fair, located at 110 County Fair Avenue in Caldwell, running from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to arrive no later than 12:45 p.m. to ensure seating before the program begins.

Distinguished speakers confirmed for this year’s ceremony include Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke, State Senator Jim Guthrie, Idaho State Police Major Jens Pattis, and Idaho Chief Deputy Attorney General Phil Skinner. Representatives from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and partner law enforcement agencies across the region are also expected to participate.

The ceremony will close with a reading of all 77 fallen officers’ names — a solemn tradition meant to ensure their sacrifice is not forgotten by the communities they served.

A Community Tribute to Law Enforcement Sacrifice

The annual memorial has grown into one of Canyon County’s most meaningful public events, drawing law enforcement personnel, elected officials, and residents from across the Treasure Valley together in a shared act of remembrance. The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office has extended an open invitation to all members of the public wishing to honor those who gave their lives protecting Idaho communities.

For Canyon County families, the ceremony serves as a reminder of the ongoing sacrifice made by local officers and state law enforcement personnel alike. For broader Idaho public safety news, visit Idaho News.
