A new patriotic mural celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States will be dedicated Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Nampa, Idaho. A Mural Rooted in Nampa’s Heritage

It also features recognizable local landmarks and institutions, including the Warhawk Air Museum, the Snake River Stampede, and the railroad — all woven together in a single visual tribute to what makes Nampa distinct.
The project was initiated in January under Mayor Hogaboam, who pushed to mark the nation’s semiquincentennial with something lasting and visible. In February, a selection committee reviewed renderings from three competing artists before casting a vote. Matt Sunderman of Liquid Sol was chosen to bring the vision to life, and the finished work now stands as one of downtown Nampa’s most striking public art installations.
Local Funding, Local Pride
The Nampa Development Corporation stepped up to fund the project, committing up to $20,000 toward the mural’s creation. The investment reflects the corporation’s long-standing mission to strengthen and revitalize downtown Nampa — an effort dating back to its 2006 plan for the area.
The choice of H&M Meats as the mural’s home adds another layer of local symbolism. The building sits along a stretch of 14th Avenue South that has long been part of Nampa’s working-class commercial fabric, making it a fitting backdrop for artwork that honors agriculture and community resilience.

Friday’s ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. and is open to the public. Following the formal dedication, lunch will be available for purchase on site — giving attendees a chance to linger, take in the artwork, and celebrate alongside neighbors and community leaders.
