Caldwell Police Book Wanted Fugitive on Felony Counts After Multi-Agency Arrest
CALDWELL, Idaho — A wanted fugitive was taken into custody and booked on multiple felony charges following a coordinated multi-agency law enforcement effort near the Norfolk apartments in Caldwell on the evening of May 15, according to Caldwell Police.
Multi-Agency Operation Targets Wanted Fugitive
Operation Safe Streets (OSS) officers located Jorge Quiroz, who was known to have an outstanding felony warrant, at a Caldwell residence near the Norfolk apartments. Assisting in the operation were the Nampa Police Department’s Specialized Enforcement Team (SET) and representatives from Probation and Parole.
Quiroz was reportedly in possession of a handgun at the time. While officers maintained surveillance, they observed him leave the residence and enter a vehicle. Caldwell Police then initiated a high-risk traffic stop. When Quiroz failed to comply with officers’ commands, Nampa SET deployed less-lethal measures to bring him into custody.
Quiroz sustained minor injuries during the apprehension and was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked into jail. Charges against him include the original felony warrant, felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Second Suspect Also Taken Into Custody
A second individual, identified as Keely Chastain, was also arrested at the scene on an agent’s warrant. Chastain faces charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Impact on Canyon County Residents
The arrest is the latest example of Canyon County law enforcement agencies working together to remove wanted and armed individuals from Caldwell neighborhoods. Operations like this reflect ongoing efforts by local agencies to address drug-related crime and outstanding warrants across the Treasure Valley. Caldwell and Nampa residents near the Norfolk apartment area can expect continued enforcement activity as agencies coordinate through programs such as Operation Safe Streets.
