Motorists traveling through the closure area are encouraged to use Interstate 84, State Highway 19 and U.S. Highway 95. Drivers should allow additional travel time and check Idaho 511 or the 511 mobile application before leaving.

The work will add an overlay to the Wilson Drain bridge. The new surface is intended to extend the bridge’s service life and add texture intended to improve traction for vehicles.

SH-55 project information

The bridge work is part of broader State Highway 55 construction that has been underway in Canyon County since 2024. That project includes added travel lanes, separated paths for pedestrians and bicyclists, and an undercrossing at 10th Avenue. Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2028.

Project details are available through the Idaho Transportation Department at the SH-55 project page, by phone at 208-477-1379, or by email at info@55farmwaytomiddleton.org. Travelers can receive text updates by sending 55FARMWAY to 866-483-8422.
