Brabeion Academy, a sports-focused charter school set to open in Nampa this fall, narrowly avoided losing its approval after state charter commissioners pressed school leaders to resolve a pair of unmet conditions. The commission had imposed a deadline, warning that failure to deliver the required agreements put the school’s fall opening at risk.
School leaders signed a bus contract on Friday, June 12, satisfying a key outstanding requirement. A lease agreement also fell into place, clearing the path for Brabeion Academy to open as scheduled. With both documents in hand, the school was cleared to proceed.
The school’s progress comes as Idaho school districts navigate budget decisions heading into the new fiscal year. Families in Canyon County interested in Brabeion Academy’s sports-focused curriculum can expect the school to open its doors this fall barring any further complications.
