The City of Nampa has launched a new digital platform designed to streamline the application process for catering, concession, and alcohol licenses. The city clerk’s office introduced the online portal as part of an effort to modernize how Canyon County residents manage business permits.

Under the previous system, applicants had to contact the clerk’s office by phone, email, or in person to receive updates on their permit status. The new portal allows users to create an account, upload required documents, and track application progress digitally without any access fees. City officials stated the goal is to reduce wait times and improve consistency in reviews.
“The city clerk’s office is delighted to unveil our brand-new, streamlined licensing and permitting system,” City Clerk Char Tim said in a news release.

While the initial rollout covers specific license types, Nampa aims to transition nearly all licenses and permits to the new digital system by the end of the year. The internal process for adding additional permit categories has already begun. Some licenses remain available solely through the city clerk’s website during this transition period.
Amy Bowman, Nampa’s director of communications, expressed confidence in the timeline. “We feel confident we will be able to meet the year-end goal,” Bowman said.

The city confirmed it will continue to accommodate in-person applications beyond 2026, ensuring that residents who prefer traditional methods are not excluded. As of Tuesday afternoon, city staff reported no technical issues or complaints regarding the new portal’s functionality.
