NAMPA, Idaho — Motorists traveling through downtown Nampa on Saturday, May 16, should expect temporary road closures and traffic delays tied to Parade America, with street shutdowns beginning well before the event steps off at 11 a.m.
The first closures are set for 7 a.m., when Amity and Colorado between 12th and Holly will be blocked to through traffic. Soft closures along 12th, 7th, and Holly are scheduled to follow at 9 a.m., with a full shutdown of the parade corridor taking effect at 10 a.m.
Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detour routes in the area, reduce their speed, and remain alert for pedestrians making their way to the event. Streets along the route are anticipated to reopen around noon, though that timeline may shift depending on how the parade progresses.
Parade America draws crowds from across the Treasure Valley each year, making it one of the larger community events on the Canyon County calendar. Residents planning to attend are advised to arrive early and park outside the closure zone to avoid being caught in traffic during the shutdowns.
