Two Men Arrested After Nampa Fast-Food Restaurant Robbery and Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Two men from the Treasure Valley — one from Middleton, one from Boise — are facing criminal charges following a midday robbery at a Nampa fast-food restaurant on July 8, 2026, and a subsequent investigation that spanned multiple counties. The case highlights coordinated law enforcement efforts across Canyon, Ada, and Boise counties.

How the Robbery Unfolded

At approximately 2:04 p.m., Nampa police received a call reporting a robbery at a fast-food establishment in the 16000 block of North Marketplace Boulevard. According to investigators, the suspect entered the restaurant wearing a motorcycle helmet and dark clothing, then took a cash register till containing an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing to the passenger seat of a maroon pickup truck waiting outside.

The maroon pickup turned out to be a recently stolen vehicle, one that had already been reported taken somewhere within Canyon County. Surveillance footage and other investigative leads allowed law enforcement to identify two suspects: Aaron David Child, 19, of Boise, as the individual who entered the restaurant and carried out the theft; and Ammon Jayce Henderson, 20, of Middleton, as the driver of the getaway vehicle.

Adding another layer to the case, investigators determined that Henderson was a former employee of the restaurant that was robbed.

Suspects Located, Stolen Property Recovered

Law enforcement tracked Henderson to the Boise area just three days after the robbery. On July 11, officers found him near a fast-food restaurant in the 100 block of North Milwaukee Street in Boise. At the time of his arrest, Henderson was in possession of a stolen motorcycle, raising additional charges related to theft.

Child remained at large for several more days before he was located in Ada County on July 15. On that same date, investigators also recovered the stolen maroon pickup truck and a stolen trailer, both found in the Robie Creek area of Boise County.

Both men are currently being held at the Ada County Jail. They each face burglary and theft charges stemming from incidents in Ada and Canyon counties. Formal robbery charges connected specifically to the Nampa restaurant incident are expected to be filed against them in the near future, according to authorities.

Impact on Nampa and Canyon County Residents

The robbery took place in a busy commercial corridor in northwestern Nampa, near North Marketplace Boulevard — an area with heavy retail and restaurant traffic during afternoon hours. The incident underscores ongoing concerns in Canyon County about property crime and the use of stolen vehicles in the commission of other offenses.

The fact that Henderson was a former employee of the targeted restaurant raises questions about insider knowledge being used to facilitate the crime — a pattern that law enforcement agencies have flagged in retail and food-service robbery cases across the Treasure Valley. Investigators have not disclosed the total value of the cash taken from the till.

What Comes Next

As both Child and Henderson remain jailed in Ada County, prosecutors in Canyon County are expected to file robbery charges tied directly to the July 8 Nampa incident. The multi-jurisdictional nature of the investigation — touching Canyon, Ada, and Boise counties — required cooperation across multiple law enforcement agencies and appears to have resulted in the recovery of at least two stolen vehicles in addition to the arrests.

Further updates on the charges and any court appearances are expected as the case moves through the judicial process. Canyon County News will continue to follow this story as new developments emerge. For broader statewide coverage of Idaho public safety and law enforcement, visit Idaho News.
